Buhari beats Atiku to be Re-Elected as Nigeria President
President Mohammed Buhari of the All Progressive Party, APC on Tuesday scored 15,191,847 votes as announced by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, beating his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who had a total of 11,262,978 votes. This put smiles on both the APC members face and their supporters face. Although report says that the opposition party, PDP said that the result is not acceptable.
President Mohammed Buhari, who was live on National TV thanked his supporters and also the party members for standing by him throughout the election and promised to do as he said he will during this next four years of his tenure. He also promised maximum security during the Governorship elections. This he said during his speech, ” Security personnel’s will step up their efforts to protect voters during Governorship elections“.
